5 Indians in the Semi-Finals
On the 4th day of YONEX-SUNRISE India Open 2022 in the quarter-final rounds total of 5 players/ pairs proceeded to the semi-finals.
In Men's singles, Brian Yang (Canada) defeated Kim Bruun (Denmark) by 21-19, 21-18 and Loh Kean Yew (Singapore) defeated Sergey Sirant (Russia) by 21-16, 21-13 and proceeded to the semi-finals respectively. Similarly, Lakshya Sen (India) defeated H.S. Prannoy (India) by 14-21, 21-9, 21-14 and NG Tze Yong (Malaysia) defeated Nhat Nguyen (Ireland) by 9-21, 21-18, 21-16, and proceeded to semi-finals respectively.
In Women's singles, P.V. Sindhu (India) won by Ashmita Chaliha (India) by 21-7, 21-18, Aakarshi Kashyap (India) won by Malvika Bansod (India) by 21-12, 21-15, and Busanan Ongbamrungphan (Thailand) won by Lauren Lam (USA) by 21-12, 21-18 Respectively and proceeded to semi-finals respectively.
Men's Doubles Semi-Finals would be played between Mohammad Ahsan/ Hendra Setiawan (Indonesia) vs Ong Yew Sin/ Teo Ee Yi (Malaysia) and Fabien Derue/ William Villeger (France) vs Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/ Chirag Shetty (India).
Women's Doubles semi-finals would be played between H.M. Harinarayan/ Ashna Roy (India) vs Benyapa Aimsaard/ Nuntakarn Aimsaard (Thailand). Anastasiia Akchurina/ Olga Morozova (Russia) have proceeded to the finals.
Mixed Doubles Semi-finals would be played between TAn Kien Meng/ Lai Pei Jing (Malaysia) vs Chen Tang Jie/ Peck Yen Wei (Malaysia) and Hee Yong Kai terry/ Tan Wei Han ( Singapore) vs Rodion Alimov/ Alina Davletova (Russia).
