INDIA OPEN 2022

  Lakshya And Satwik-Chirag  To Grab their  Titles on Home ground (L)Lakshya Sen, (r) Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty On the final day in YONEX-SUNRISE India Open 2022, two titles were held back at home. A great event held at New Delhi, capital of the Country. There were some mishaps due to COVID pandemic situation but all over it was a successful tournament. Starting with singles, in men's singles, Lakshya Sen (India) beats Loh Kean Yew (Singapore) by 24-22, 21-17 in a 54 mins match. In Women's singles Busanan Ongbamrungphan (Thailand) beats Supanida Katethong (Thailand) by 22-20, 19-21, 21-13 in a long 1hr 16 mins match. In Men's doubles Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty (India) beat Mohammad Ahsan/ Hendra Setiawan (Indonesia) by 21-16, 26-24. In Women's doubles Benyapa Aimsaard/ Nuntakarn Aimsaard (Thailand) beat Anastasiia Akchurina/Olga Morozova (Russia) by 21-13, 21-5. DAY 4 INDIA OPEN 2022

 5 Indians in the Semi-Finals On the 4th day of YONEX-SUNRISE India Open 2022 in the quarter-final rounds total of 5 players/ pairs proceeded to the semi-finals. In Men's singles, Brian Yang (Canada) defeated Kim Bruun (Denmark) by 21-19, 21-18 and Loh Kean Yew (Singapore) defeated Sergey Sirant (Russia) by 21-16, 21-13 and proceeded to the semi-finals respectively. Similarly, Lakshya Sen (India) defeated H.S. Prannoy (India) by 14-21, 21-9, 21-14 and NG Tze Yong (Malaysia) defeated Nhat Nguyen (Ireland) by 9-21, 21-18, 21-16, and proceeded to semi-finals respectively. In Women's singles, P.V. Sindhu (India) won by Ashmita Chaliha (India) by 21-7, 21-18, Aakarshi Kashyap (India) won by Malvika Bansod (India) by 21-12, 21-15, and Busanan Ongbamrungphan (Thailand) won by Lauren Lam (USA) by 21-12, 21-18 Respectively and proceeded to semi-finals respectively.  COVID-19 TAKES OVER THE TOURNAMENT On the 3rd day of YONEN-SUNRISE India Open 2022, in the round 2 of 16, 11 matches were walked-over. 7 players including Kidambi Shrikanth, Ashwini Ponnappa, Mithun Manjunath, Ritika Rahul Thakkar, Tressa Jolly, Simran Aman Singh, and Khushi Gupta were tested positive for covid. Tomorrow on the 4th day of the tournament Quarter final would be played. In Men's singles Kim Bruun (Denmark) would play against Brian Yang (Canada), Sergey Sirant (Russia) vs Loh Kean Yew (Singapore), Lakshya Sen (India) vs H.S. Prannoy (India) and NG Tze Yong (Malasiya) vs Nhat Nguyen (Ireland) In Women's singles P.V. Sindhu (India) vs Ashmita Chaliha (India), Yeo Jin Min (Singapore) vs Supanida Katethong (Thailand), Aakarshi Kashyap (India) vs Malvika Bansod (India) and Lauren Lam (USA) vs Busanan Ongbamrungphan (Thailand).  The majority of Indians dominating On the 2nd day of India Open tournament 2022 Majority of Indians like Rahul Yadav, Lakshya Sen, Mithun Manjunath, H. S. Prannoy, Sameer Verma, and Kidambi Shrikanth in Men's singles event graduated to the second round. In Women's singles event along with P.V. UPCOMING BADMINTON TOURNMENT

 YONEX-SUNRISE India Open After great distress of past 2 years of COVID era finally the first tournament of the year is here. Though still the situations arent under control but still taking all major safety and sanity steps the tournament is being held in New Delhi, India. The last edition of this tournament was played in 2019 in which Viktor Axelsen (Denmark), Ratchnok Intanon (Thailand), Li Yang/ Wang chi-yin (Chinese taipie), Greysia Polli/ Apriyani Rahayu (Indonesia), and Wang yi liu/ Huang Dong Ping (China) were the winnersof men's singles, womend's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles respectively. Due to pandemic situations a lot of players around the globe arent able to participate this year. But From the January onwards the tournament would start and with the same positive vibes like earlier.  Wishing all the player best of luck and a safe tournament.
